  I lived in Courtenay for 5 years (from the mainland) and would go here almost weekly...

  I'm writing this review because suddenly i remembered this place and the memories of eating there so often...

  This place doesn't try top be anything that it's not. It isn't high end. It is sort of daggy, with the plastic grapes and fruits hanging from a cheap trestle nailed to the ceiling.
  
  The service is at first very fast, and at second...missing in action. But we ordered and were served very hot, very fresh, authentic Vietnamese food in record time.
  
  No one came to top up our drinks or to offer more food, or desert. We were in, ordered, ate and left in record time. However, do not let this deter you. It's café-ish and the food is very good. The added bonus of it being cheap was not lost on us.
  
  I heartily recommend this place for excellent Vietnamese food...especially if you're in a hurry.

  After we sat down, they came to our table three times in 4 minutes to get our order. We kept saying, "We're not ready yet," so clearly they don't know how to read body language.
  
  They brought two of the three plates out, then left the table. The third plate was for a 6-year-old, and she thought they weren't going to bring her food. At least tell us you're going back for it. Ugh.
  
  He delivered the food, left the table, and we never saw him again. No one asked if everything was ok--at all.
  
  Beef ribs were greasy and chewy. I ate one of them and left the rest on the plate.
  
  The pho was cloudy and didn't have much flavor. Only a few vegetables brought to the table on a plate to go with it. Disappointing.
  
  The spring rolls were good, as was the rice.
  
  Went to pay and found out they don't take credit cards. It's 2018, People. You're running a business. We'll pay the stupid credit card fees. Geebus.
  
  I won't go back.

  Well this is my second time here(first and last). I ordered the pho dac biet soup bowl, and the first piece of meat I ate was cold. Not from sitting  to long before being brought out to us, like right out of the fridge cold. The food was brought out fast from order. Maybe take an extra minute and microwave the ingredients in the soup before bringing it out...

  Ignores customers and super rude. Why open a business when you are so rude ? I'm big on service when it comes to restaurants... it is okay if you are not super attentive or not super talkative or whatsoever. BUT when you are being RUDE as in giving attitude or replying in a disgusting tone... it is unacceptable. 0 stars.
